Hyolyn dropped the MV for her latest track “‘9LIVES” on August 10th KST!
First performed on Mnet‘s reality survival show “Good Girl,” where Hyolyn received rave reviews from the cast and audience for her explosive singing skills, the autobiographical song personally produced by the singer looks back at the moments that lead to where she is now, using analogies of love and numbers.
The track was collaborative effort, written and composed by Australian singer-songwriter Hayley Aitken, Swedish writer/producer and multi-instrumentalist Ollipop (Olof Lindskog), and Stockholm-based songwriter Gavin Jones. Collectively, they have an prolific resumé containing various K-pop hits from groups like Red Velvet, Everglow, KARD, and more.
The music video sees a present Hyolyn (portrayed by talented 14-year-old dancer from Los Angeles, Nicole Laeno) dancing with her future self (portrayed by the former SISTAR member), sublimating the feelings of the song into dance.
In particular, the deviating nature of the choreography created by renowned L.A. based choreographer Nicole Kirkland, who has worked with superstar performers Prince, Gwen Stefani, Nicole Scherzinger, Kehlani and more, is sure to leave a strong impression on viewers.
“9LIVES” comes off the singer’s upcoming second mini album Say My Name, which will be released on August 19th and features six tracks including previous singles “Dally (Feat. Gray),” “Bae,” and “See Sea.”
