On May 16th at 6 p.m. KST, Girls Generation‘s Hyoyeon made her comeback as HYO with her first mini-album and a new music video!
“DEEP” is an EDM dance track with lyrics which sing about the exciting tension between two people who circle around each other like prey. The EP, which shares the same name as the lead single, contains seven EDM songs and features fellow artists BIBI, Loopy, (G)I-DLE‘s Soyeon, 3LAU, and Ummet Ozcan. It also contains previously released tracks such as “DESSERT,” “Punk Right Now,” and more.
Kim Hyoyeon debuted as the main dancer and rapper of the second-generation group Girls Generation (SNSD) in 2007. She then made her solo debut in 2016 with “Mystery” and reinvented herself as HYO in 2018 as part of her musical pursuit as a DJ.
Earlier this year, Hyoyeon was revealed to be part of a seven-member unit from SMTOWN’s project group, Girls On Top. The experimental venture features talents selected from the agency’s top female groups.
