On April 22nd, Son Dongwoon released the music video for “편해지자 (In The Silence).”
The beautiful ballad starts off with a strings arrangement before focusing on his voice and elegant piano arrangement. As the song progresses, the strings and drum beat pick up again to carry the rhythm of the song as the Highlight member’s vocals bring out the emotion of the song that talks about finally moving on from a past love, making for a gorgeous track and delivery.
“In The Silence” is the title track off Dongwoon’s mini-album, Act 1 : The Orchestra. This is his first mini-album to be released and follows his Korean solo debut in 2015 with the single album Prelude: Voice. With the release of this new album, fans see he had a long-term plan in mind since “Act 1” has now followed the “Prelude,” therefore they are already looking forward to the next musical acts the singer has in store for the future.
Dongwoon personally revealed that this album is deeply personal to him and is something he has been working on for three years. Each of the eight tracks on the album were all written and composed by Dongwoon himself.
In the meantime, Dongwoon will soon be enlisting in the military. He is set to report for duty on May 9th and will be serving as a conscripted police officer after finishing basic training.
