HIGHLIGHT is back with their new song, “Calling You.”
On May 29th, the popular group made their comeback with a new MV, as well as a repackage of their previous album, Can You Feel It? The title track from the new album is about a guy that can’t stop drunk dialing his ex-girlfriend. The slower melody and bittersweet lyrics make for a track to which many people can relate.
The MV itself has a similar aesthetic as their previous hit, “Plz Don’t Be Sad.” However, we see less dance than in their previous song. As each member navigates the loneliness that can hit after a night of drinking, we see signs and messages in the background that give us clues to their mental state. Things like “Lies Lies Lies” and “Sadness comes out at night” hint at the pain they endured over a breakup and how the night magnifies that hurt they’re feeling.
