After eight years, HIGH4‘s iconic rap duo — LXX and Youngjun — are back with their new unit 20WAVE on October 1st at 12 p.m. KST!
The new song “BOOMERANG” is an exciting hip-hop track that switches between up and down tempos with the reversed tempo in the second half increasing the appeal of the song.
Both LXX and Youngjun took part in writing and composing “BOOMERANG.” AVEC‘s yuka and Bull$EyE completed the composition.
20WAVE is the second unit of LXX and Youngjun. The first was HIGH4:20 back in 2016, a few years after HIGH4’s debut. Since HIGH4 and its subsequent hip-hop unit disbanded in 2017, LXX and Youngjun have focused on various individual activities.
LXX is now a solo artist under 28 Laboratory, debuting with the song “Black” in 2020. He also went on a European tour last year with label mate Corbyn (ex-24K). Meanwhile, Youngjun has been keeping fans updated through a variety of vlogs and content on his YouTube channel as well as appearing in “Playou Level Up: Villian’s World” in 2023.
HIGH4 made their debut in 2016 with the IU collaboration “Not Spring, Love, Or Cherry Blossoms.” The beloved song remains a playlist staple every year during the titular season.
The return of 20WAVE is thanks to platform Twinkple‘s “FAN CONNECT PROJECT” where fans all over the world can fund and support an artist’s album release. The response for LXX and Youngjun was so enthusiastic, the project was extended even after the project goal was reached!
