On June 21st at 6 p.m. KST, GOT7‘s Youngjae made a solo comeback with a new mini-album as well as a music video for its title track, “SUGAR.”
The song’s lyrics were written by the singer himself and talked about craving for the sweetness of romance. His EP, which is also called SUGAR, comes in two physical versions and a five-piece tracklist. Youngjae participated in writing and composing each song under his pseudonym, “Ars.”
Youngjae made his debut with the seven-member JYP Entertainment group GOT7 in 2014. After their contracts lapsed, all seven members left the company in January 2021 and chose to pursue individual passion projects in the following months. Youngjae made his solo debut with COLORS from Ars in October 2021 before returning with GOT7 to promote their self-titled album in May 2022.
