BamBam is the latest member of GOT7 to make his solo debut, releasing his first mini-album riBBon and the title track of the same name on June 15th at 6 p.m. KST!
“riBBon” is a song with an easy and addictive melody line with hopeful lyrics, expressing BamBam’s unique brightness and energy.
BamBam participated in writing lines for the song with seasoned K-pop lyricists Jo Yoonkyung, Lee Hajin as well as producers earattack and Luke. He also worked alongside globally renowned producers Peter Chun, Andreas Carlsson, Drew Scott, Ryan Kim and earattack for the composition.
The album concept behind riBBon is based on Greek mythology’s “Pandora’s Box” and BamBam reminds the audience to continue to believe in positivity in order to overcome disasters and injustice in the world. It can also be interpreted as BamBam being the contents of the box, with himself acting as the ribbon that is wrapping up the world in a knot of hope.
Taking his first step as a solo artist after signing with Abyss Company in March this year, BamBam contributed heavily to the creation of this record. He is credited as a producer for all six tracks where he participated in writing, composing, and even mixing — the latter a role rarely taken on by idols.
The title song’s music video is the work of visual creative studio HIGHQUALITYFISH that has produced MVs for many K-pop artists including MONSTA X and Stray Kids.
