On April 5th at 6 p.m. KST, (G)I-DLE‘s Yuqi dropped a digital single ahead of her solo debut!
“Could It Be” is a retro-inspired track, featuring 1970s analog instruments, with lyrics that sing about the delightful surprise and confusion that come with the realization that they have unexpectedly fallen in love. The song was written, composed, and arranged by Mike Elizondo and Micky Ekko.
YUQ1 is Yuqi’s first mini-album and expresses Yuqi’s free-spirited and delicate nature, hoping to encourage other “freaks” to come forward and embrace their individuality. It will be out on April 23rd KST.

Katherine grew up watching Korean dramas and other Asian shows. Although she first learned to appreciate Korean music through OSTs broadcasted locally, it wasn’t until 2011 that she properly paid attention to K-pop. She holds a fondness for SEVENTEEN and NCT and would recommend (G)I-DLE, Dreamcatcher, and XG to whoever cared to listen. She reads just about anything and is currently easing back into full novels.
