(G)I-DLE gets a little risque for their comeback!
On October 17th at 6 p.m. KST, the group released its fifth mini-album along with the music video for its title track, “Nxde.”
Written and co-composed by (G)I-DLE leader Soyeon, the alternative pop song is about knowing that people like them for the image they project and deciding to show everyone their true selves even if they risk losing being loved over it.
It uses the melody of “Habanera” from Georges Bizet’s 1875 opéra “Carmen” while its music video includes several performance references, including those of classic icon Marilyn Monroe, to emphasize how the characters are putting on a show for the public. Producers Pop Time and Kako co-composed and arranged the track.
I love is (G)I-DLE’s fifth EP which features six tracks that were produced with Soyeon in the lead. The album represents the courage and determination to live as who you truly are instead of existing as someone else’s perception of you.
(G)I-DLE previously returned in March 2022 with their first full album I NEVER DIE with the title song, “Tomboy.” The group then set out on their “2022 (G)I-DLE World Tour ‘Just Me ()I-DLE'” which spanned from June to October with stops in Asia, the U.S., and Latin America.
