On July 19th at 6 p.m. KST, Sunye pre-released a special single called “Glass Heart”!
The R&B track was written by the singer alongside Park Sang-hoon, Vanessa Campagna, and Kim Ye-rang. Its lyrics offer a thoughtful perspective on the seemingly fragile nature of the human heart as the Sunye regretfully reflects on how a romantic relationship keeps falling apart despite their lingering love for each other.
Sunye’s debut mini-album, titled Genuine, is set to drop on July 26th KST with the exciting promise of five new tracks to look forward to. According to her new label, Blockberry Creative, Sunye has poured her personal emotions and stories into her latest project by contributing lyrics for four of her songs.
Sunye originally rose to fame as the leader of the second-generation K-pop group Wonder Girls in 2007. She left her position in 2014 after marrying her husband and moving out of South Korea to pursue a quieter life outside the entertainment industry. In 2021, she participated in tvN‘s “Mama the Idol” which was a reality competition starring former K-pop idols that have mothered children.
