EXO‘s Lay has released a nice treat for fans!
On August 1st, the talented solo artist and EXO member released a short, animated film via his Twitter account. The video is done in rich colors of purple and blue and depicts the story of a young woman who takes off her necklace and places it into the sea. Once there, it travels through the magical, underwater world until it finally arrives to Lay who is on the other side of the ocean.
Lay revealed to fans that he wrote the script for the video and arranged the music several years ago. He then went on to thank the animation team, director, and sponsors for the video.
The video was done in collaboration with Chaumet, a famous jewelry brand whose necklace design was featured in the video. The necklace shown is their famous “Jeux de Liens” design in the shape of an “X.” With “liens” meaning a strong link or connection, the necklace was the perfect piece to feature as it is what connected the two people in the video, despite the long distance in between them.
Whether the video is meant to be a simple, artistic piece or whether it has deeper meaning about Lay, EXO, and EXO-L as some fans believe, no doubt all viewers will enjoy the lovely, original music and animations.
