Baekhyun has finally made his solo debut!
On July 10th at 6 p.m. KST, the EXO member thrilled fans with the release of his solo mini-album and the music video for the title track, “UN Village.”
UN Village is a place within the famous exclusive neighborhood of Hannam where the villas are gathered together. Produced by Leon and DRESS, the song sings about guiding somebody to a hill behind the affluent UN Village in order to enjoy the night view with them.
According to the idol himself, City Lights is a nod to EXO’s concept of members being assigned super powers in which Baekhyun’s was light thus reflecting this fact onto the title.
The mini-album has a total of six songs that were all produced by extremely talented producers such as singer-songwriter Colde, Darkchild, LDN Noise, Kenzie, DEEZ, Stereotypes, Cha Cha Malone, Leon, and DRESS. Rapper Beenzino features in one of the b-side tracks, “Stay Up.”
A few days before its scheduled release, the highly-awaited album was reported to have breached the 400,000 copies pre-order mark, proving the fans’ eagerness to support Baekhyun and his venture into the entertainment industry as a soloist.
