EXO has finally unveiled “Tempo,” the title track from Don’t Mess Up My Tempo, their fifth full-length studio album.
“Tempo,” which was recorded in both Korean and Chinese for the album, is a song recorded in the hip-hop dance genre. It features an energetic bass line, rhythmical drums, and EXO’s fresh, a capella vocals. Following the concept of the album, the lyrics in the song use ‘melody’ and ‘tempo’ as extended metaphors for the pace of love. The song is a very unique sound for EXO, giving off an entirely new vibe for the group.
The music video has a motorcycle rider concept, which, in a recent press conference for the album, leader Suho explained as “a concept that is meant to enhance the masculine image” of the group.
Meanwhile, EXO plans to perform the new single for the very first time on “Music Bank” this week. They have also prepared a special stage for “Ooh La La La,” another track featured on the Don’t Mess Up My Tempo album.
