Returning as a full group for the first time since May 2020, DAY6 are back with “You Make Me”!
“You Make Me” is a love song about hope in someone who helps you to endure the tough times. It is from the band’s seventh mini-album, The Book of Us : Negentropy – Chaos swallowed up in love, which was released on April 19th at 6 p.m. KST.
The follow-up to sixth mini-album The Book Of Us: The Demon and concluding their The Book Of Us series, Negentropy is based on the physics term referring to the increase and decrease in energy.
The fresh and bright sound reflects the hopefulness of the track by blending harmonious instrumentation with positive lyrics which were written by DAY6’s own YoungK. The group’s bassist also composed the song with fellow member and keyboardist/vocalist, Wonpil.
Taking a strong step forward in musical direction through this release, the band takes their signature sound of heart-tugging pop-rock and experiments with exciting elements and fusing of genres while also delivering some of their finest vocals to date.
Due to leader Sungjin’s enlistment in March, after completing work on this album, this will be the band’s last record as a full group for a while. They will not be having any group activities for this comeback thus, the song’s lyrical content also doubles as a message to fans which makes the album even more special!
