DAY6 returns with their ninth mini-album Band Aid and the music video for its title track on September 2nd at 6 p.m. KST!
The title song, “Melt Down,” contrasts cheerful and intense sounds with a sweet and salty charm. It contains the healing message that everything melts because of you when it feels like the world will freeze in despair.
Based on a melodic funk sound, the track delivers varied drum beats and dramatic chord compositions while aiming to showcase strength to get back on one’s feet and hope for one another’s good fortune.
Member Young K penned the lyrics to “Melt Down” while also composing the song with fellow bandmates Sungjin and Wonpil. Composer Hong Jisang, who has worked with DAY6 on some of their most prominent releases, also took part.
The music video encapsulates the song’s concept as the four-piece performs in a frozen world. As time goes by, the ice begins to melt as various vibrant colors make the world bright once again. It accomplishes an effective visual example of despair which turns to hope and eventual healing.
That message of healing is the entire theme of Band Aid, as the album name suggests. DAY6 hopes to heal through the music presented across its eight self-produced tracks.
