K-pop queen CL is back with her first solo full-length album, ALPHA, and the mind-blowing title track “Tie A Cherry” on October 20th at 1 p.m. KST.
Channeling her signature strong confidence and firm self-belief, “Tie A Cherry” is quintessential CL and is the perfect song to mark this highly-anticipated milestone in her solo career.
The track was written by a collective of talent including CL herself. She worked side-by-side with Nick Lee, Peter Chun, Krysta Youngs, Julia Ross, Kyan Palmer, Gino Borr, and Sokodomo, a roster of producers and songwriters who have worked on some of the biggest hits by the biggest names in both K-pop and the western pop world.
As expected from the former 2NE1 leader, the music video features eccentric and unique fashion with Alessandro Francalanci, senior designer of luxury brand Tom Ford, in-charge of styling.
Through ALPHA, CL makes a clear capture of her character and identity as an artist, participating in writing and composing for the entire record’s 11 songs. The tracklist includes the John Malkovich-narrated pre-release single “Spicy” and the Anne-Marie co-written track “Lover Like Me,” as well as CL’s 2020 releases “HWA” and “5 Star.”
