Solo singer CHUU is back with a sugary sweet comeback with her second mini-album Strawberry Rush on June 25th at 6 p.m. KST!
Also the name of the title song, “Strawberry Rush” is an electro-pop track with dreamy synths and a unique bass sound. It features a rhythmic melody and fun lyrics that deliver a bounciness perfectly matching CHUU’s positive energy.
The lyrics — which depict a lively heroine running towards victory — were written by songwriters Perrie and 9june9. Meanwhile, the composition is the work of Ryan S. Jhun, David Wilson, Colin Magalong, and Sorana Pacurar.
In the “Strawberry Rush” music video, CHUU eats a mysterious strawberry and becomes an eccentric hero girl racing toward a trophy. The creative use of 3D animations and visual effects — which includes the same monster from the singer’s previous MV for “Howl” — is reminiscent of a fast-paced action video game.
It was filmed in Melbourne, Australia, where various well-known locations and landmarks can be seen throughout the video. This includes places such as the street art-covered laneway Croft Alley, tennis stadium Kia Arena, vintage Mexican diner Hotel Jesus, iconic precinct Chapel Street, Faraday’s Cage cafe, and URBNSURF surf park — a treat for viewers who are either from or familiar with the city.
Strawberry Rush contains a total of six tracks, all showcasing CHUU’s expanded musical spectrum which presents a clearer, more assertive message than before.
