On April 3rd at 6 p.m. KST, Catch the Young released their second mini-album along with the music video of its title track, “Voyager!”
The alternative pop-rock song expresses the desire to “navigate the distance between loved ones and arrive at a destination where each other’s true feelings can be communicated.” Bridging the gap between people of different ways and choices can be the key to living together in harmony.
San E, Ki Hoon, AIVAN, and KRAX wrote the lyrics of “Voyager” while San E, Ki Hoon, and Jeong Mo composed the song.
Catch The Young: Fragments of Odyssey is the second installment of the group’s series that began with their debut album, Catch The Young: Fragments of Youth. It features seven songs in total that all members took part in composing.
Its third track titled “The Legend” is a post-rock piece notably inspired by prominent South Korean League of Legends pro-gamer, Faker. Faker led his team to their fourth world championship trophy last year despite an intimidating string of contenders and prompted San E to create a bold confident anthem that sings about overcoming adversity.
The sixth track on the album called “Be the Light (1101)” is a slow-tempo fan song that expresses the members’ endless gratitude to their fans who have supported them along their journey. Its lyrics describe their fandom as “a warm presence that illuminates Catch the Young’s future like a lighthouse that brightly lights the way.”
Through this EP, Catch the Young depicts the various emotions that flit through someone’s heart as they continue exploring the long journey of life. It also highlights that whatever waits along the way can be unpredictable and unavoidable but every discovery allows one to understand their adventure a little better.
