On November 19th, the 2016 Melon Music Awards were held in Seoul, with popular boy band BTS taking home the coveted prize for 2016 Best Album of the Year.
When the group heard their name called for album of the year, Rap Monster stood quickly as if in shock, while some of the other members just looked on in disbelief and others were grinning with joy. After slowly making their way onstage to accept the award, Rap Monster went to the microphone to make their acceptance speech. As the charismatic leader thanked their fans and label, several of the other members couldn’t control their tears at the special moment. After the speech, they gathered for a group hug before making their way offstage.
The Best Album of the Year award is decided by the combined points of digital score and voting, equal to a 70 percent and 30 percent of the total score.
In addition to winning Best Album of the Year for their album “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever,” the boy band also won an award as one of the top 10 Artists of the Year.
