V is the latest BTS member to make his much-awaited solo debut with his first album Layover on September 8th at 1 p.m. KST!
The title track “Slow Dancing” is a pop R&B song with jazz elements that pays homage to the classic sounds of 70s soul music. V’s signature baritone vocals shine through with a romantic and laid-back performance while the impromptu flute in the outro exemplifies the free and tranquil nature of the record.
The lyrics were penned by the production duo freekind., Kim Donghyun (also known as rapper Kim Ximya) and lyricist team Gigi. The former also joined composer FRNK in completing the production and composition.
Visually, the “Slow Dancing” music video is as serene and soothing as its accompanying soundtrack. It follows V as he travels to various locations, basking in breathtaking scenery and enjoying himself with friends.
Layover contains six songs, including a special piano version of the title track, as well as pre-releases “Love Me Again” and “Rainy Days” which you can check out here and here.
