BOYNEXTDOOR has made their return with the conclusion to their “First Love Story Trilogy” with their second mini-album HOW? on April 15th at 6 p.m. KST.
The title track “Earth, Wind & Fire” is an impressive dance song with hyper-pop elements, and features a bold development and dynamic performance that breaks the boundaries of the genre. Meanwhile, the fast-paced ‘self-sped up’ section is memorable and addictive even after one listen.
Members Jaehyun, Taesan, and Woonhak participated in writing the lyrics with Taesan and Woonhak also helping with composing. Producer and artist ZICO, who serves as the executive producer of HOW?, and the main producer Pop Time also wrote and composed the title song.
“Earth, Wind & Fire” is the most obvious example of BOYNEXTDOOR’s trendy, unconventional, and free-spirited personality. It reflects loving someone who is everything in the world to you, like your earth, wind, and fire. While at the same time, being uneasy and frustrated that love can’t be controlled, like nature.
The unique and lively music video in the style of what’s known as ‘kitsch core,’ with colorful sets, CG effects, and speedy editing.
BOYNEXTDOOR’s second mini-album HOW? includes an English version of the title song and members Jaehyun, Taesan, and Woonhak participating heavily in writing and composing across the record’s seven tracks.
