On July 27th KST, Block B rapper and soloist Zico released his mini-album along with a music video for its title track, “Freak”!
Written by Zico, Poptime, and Ryo, the song sings about shaking away restraints and just giving into the music as the world falls apart around them. Its music video features actors Noh Yoon Seo, Park Hae Joon, and Cha Hyeop plus hip-hop artist Yong Yong who all are shown against a city overrun by chaos and danger.
Grown Ass Kid is the rapper’s first comeback in two years, wrapping up his mandatory military enlistment a few months ago. It contains five new titles including the pre-released single “Seoul Drift” which dropped a week ago, on July 19th KST. Fellow rapper Changmo and singer Zior Park contribute their own signature musical flavor in two collaboration tracks, “OMZ Freestyle” and “Nocturnal Animals.”
Zico had initially scheduled a showcase for his new album along with other promotions but due to him testing positive for Covid-19 two days before its release, his activities have been pushed back for everyone’s safety. We hope he recovers quickly and remains in full health afterward!
