On August 19th at 1 p.m. KST, BLACKPINK made their comeback with the powerhouse track “Pink Venom.”
The hip-hop song immediately captivates listeners by using traditional Korean instrument sounds. Meanwhile, strong beats complement the group’s trademark full-throttle raps and polished vocals which lead to a catchy hook.
Written by Teddy Park and Danny Chung, the lyrics send a striking message of overtaking another person effortlessly and with pleasure— something which is perfectly in line with BLACKPINK’s unique identity. Teddy composed the track with 24 and R. Tee, the three having worked together on the girl group’s previous records. A newcomer to their production team at THEBLACKLABEL is IDO, someone who took part in composing and arranging “Pink Venom.”
The pre-release single “Pink Venom” is from BLACKPINK’s forthcoming second full-length album BORN PINK. The album is scheduled to be released on September 16th KST.
