History-making K-pop group Big Ocean has released a surprise music video for their second digital single “BLOW” on July 11th at 6 p.m. KST!
The powerful and energetic track features rhythmic synths, an energizing beat, and an addictive chorus melody. The lyrics convey Big Ocean’s determination to breathe life into the passion of their heart, set it on fire, and show off explosive energy on stage.
Additionally, the performance is the work of Choi Youngjun, a renowned dancer and choreographer who has worked with artists such as SEVENTEEN, BTS, and TWICE.
Big Ocean has been making waves since before their debut. They are the first K-pop group to consist entirely of members who are hard of hearing with each member either using hearing aids, cochlear implants, or a combination of the two devices.
The group incorporates Korean Sign Language (KSL), American Sign Language (ASL), and International Sign (IS) into their choreography. As well as adding it to the choreography of popular K-pop songs through dance cover videos.
The ambitious trio makes use of technology to overcome challenges other idol groups don’t have to face. Such as dancing with the help of smartwatches and monitors that vibrate and flash to the beat of the song.
Big Ocean debuted on April 20th KST — South Korea’s National Disabled Person’s Day — with the debut single “GLOW” which is a reimagining of first-generation idol group H.O.T‘s song, “Hope.”
Their company, PARASTAR Entertainment, represents artists with disabilities or physical barriers in entertainment and sports while seeking to improve disability awareness and inclusivity.
