AKMU (otherwise known as Akdong Musician) has finally made their long-awaited comeback!
On September 25th, the talented brother-sister duo from YG Entertainment released the music video for “How Can I Love The Heartbreak, You’re The One I Love (어떻게 이별까지 사랑하겠어, 널 사랑하는 거지).” The beautiful ballad tells of the heartbreaking feeling when you love someone so much that you just can’t say goodbye, despite the fact that the relationship is failing. With lines like “We walk along together upon the desolate road, conversation lacking substance… your hand I used to hold seems to vanish,” listeners are pulled into the song through the poetic and emotional lines.
Meanwhile, the music video echoes the sad message of the song as both singers are seen trying to go through life while still fighting the heartbreak that is happening in their own lives. Overall, the video and song show a new maturity in AKMU’s already amazing music and sound.
“How Can I Love The Heartbreak, You’re The One I Love” is the title track off the duo’s new album, Sailing. Since Lee Chan Hyuk has been serving in the Marines until May of this year, this marks the duo’s first comeback since the release of their hit track “Dinosaur” in 2017.
