WATCH: Ailee Transforms Into Belle Of The Ball In Stylish “Don’t Teach Me” Music Video

Vocal powerhouse Ailee has returned with her third full-length album, AMY, and its title track “Don’t Teach Me” on October 27th at 6 p.m. KST.

Taken from the singer’s English name, the release completes the I’M LOVIN’ AMY album series which was kicked off by mini-albums I’M and LOVIN’ respectively. The series tells the metamorphic story of Ailee who, through the process of self-discovery, has found and embraced her true self – both personally and professionally – after a long period of searching.

The title track “Don’t Teach Me” expresses confidence and female empowerment in a way fans of the singer are well acquainted with. Musically, the song reinterprets and modernizes the classic elegance of the swing genre by combining detailed chord voicing, multi-dimensional chorus lines, and brass sections to create a big band atmosphere.

Ailee co-wrote the song with VIXX member and head of THEL1VE label Ravi who also composed the track with Hwanghyun of production team MonoTree. Back in July, Ailee became the first artist to sign to the new company and AMY marks the singer’s first major release with the label.

The album contains a total of 12 tracks, seven of which Ailee participated in writing while additionally serving as music producer on the record. Prominent songwriters and producers within and beyong the K-pop world also worked on songs from the album, notably Daniel Ceasar, Ludwig Lindell, and Hyolyn on opening track “New Ego” which further increased the anticipation for its release.
