WATCH: aespa Is A Free-Spirited Band In “Live My Life” MV

On June 20th at midnight KST, aespa surprised fans by releasing a music video for their B-side, “Live My Life!”

The song is a bright guitar-based pop-punk piece with a distinct drum line that speaks about not adhering to the usual paths others take and living how you want since there is no true correct choice in life. Leslie wrote the Korean lyrics while Sophia Brenan, Nick Hahn, and Edvard Erfjord composed the track.

aespa’s full-length album, Armageddon, features 10 songs and was unveiled on May 27th KST. This is their fourth consecutive million-seller following their mini-albums Girls, MY WORLD, and Drama.

Its pre-released title track “Supernova” is the fastest girl group song of the year to get a perfect-all kill on South Korean music charts.

Katherine grew up watching Korean dramas and other Asian shows. Although she first learned to appreciate Korean music through OSTs broadcasted locally, it wasn’t until 2011 that she properly paid attention to K-pop. She holds a fondness for SEVENTEEN and NCT and would recommend (G)I-DLE, Dreamcatcher, and XG to whoever cared to listen. She reads just about anything and is currently easing back into full novels.
