Break out the tissues— 2NE1 has released their farewell song “Goodbye.”
On January 21st KST, the beautiful song was released to say goodbye to fans and thank them for their many years of support and love. Members CL, Sandara Park, and Park Bom all appear in the video. Minzy, who earlier this week expressed her disappointment about not knowing about the final song, was shown through old clips of the group together.
After debuting in 2009, the girl group went on to become a worldwide force in Kpop, gaining a huge following of fans called “Blackjacks.” After a scandal with member Park Bom concerning an event that happened when she was younger, the group went on hiatus. Despite the long break however, YG Entertainment never brought the group together again for a comeback. Instead, the members have gone their separate ways since their contracts ended in 2016, with only CL and Sandara Park being resigned with the company.
Since they never got the chance to thank fans properly, they decided to release one final song as a thank you. The sweet song and music video is sure to make fans cry as they see the three artists together and watch the old memories appear on the screen. On a special note, CL wrote the lyrics for the song.
