A statement posted by KJ Music Entertainment on TST‘s fancafe revealed that leader Ain quietly joined the army for his mandatory military service on April 6th.
According to the announcement, it was Ain’s wish to enter the military without revealing the date, place, and time of enlistment. The company asked fans for their understanding and assured them that they will soon announce an address where fans can send letters to the singer.
Ain originally debuted in 2013 as the leader of boy group NOM alongside fellow TST members Yohan and K. After the group disbanded in 2016, the three members joined pre-debut group 7STONE that eventually debuted as TopSecret on January 1st, 2017. He was again appointed leader, as well as vocalist and main dancer, of the team.
The group changed their name in April 2018 to TST (which still stands for TopSecret, as does their group name in Korean: 일급비밀) and recently came back with the sexy synth pop track “Countdown”.
Ain is the second member of the group to enlist, K enlisted on March 21st 2019 and is currently serving as a public service worker. The group is also down one other member, with vocalist and rapper Wooyoung being on hiatus due to health issues and focusing on recovery since early 2019.
Ain recently held fan meetings in Japan with fellow member Yohan, who together have a joint YouTube channel “YO-I” where the duo post various content such as vlogs, eating broadcasts, prank videos, food reviews, funny challenges and all sorts of random entertainment.
We wish Ain all the very best for his time in the military!
