“Train to Busan” Sequel “Peninsula” Coming To U.S. Theaters This Week

The long-awaited sequel to “Train to Busan” is finally coming to U.S. theaters!

“Peninsula,” starring Gang Dong Won (“Island: The Wolf Brigade”), Lee Jung Hyun (“The Battleship Island”), and Lee Re (“Hope”), while directed by Yeon Sang Ho (“Train to Busan”), will begin showing in U.S. movie theaters beginning August 21st!

The film takes place several years after the events of “Train to Busan” with Gang Dong Won portraying a soldier, known as Jungseok, who returns to the peninsula on a mission with his team. They become involved with a group of survivors and must find their way safely off the peninsula.

The film will be showing in various U.S. cities such as Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Nashville, Orlando, San Jose, and many more! The number of cities showing Korean films has significantly increased since the successful run of Academy Award-winning film “Parasite,” so check out the full list of U.S. theaters and cities here to see if a theater near you is listed. In the meantime, the movie hit theaters in Canada starting last week!
