We all listen to music for the emotions conveyed, regardless of the language and singer. Everyone enjoys music, and that cannot be denied! Kpop artists feel the same way as evidenced by the song covers they release for fans to listen to and enjoy with them.

We compiled a list of five of the best covers by Kpop artists, varying in genre and either solos or duets. It was definitely difficult to order the songs by rank due to the different feelings expressed by the artists, but we hope you agree that it’s a good list to sing to at a little karaoke session at home or with friends during those emotional moments.

Don’t hold back, and just enjoy these amazing covers by Kpop artists!

1. “Lost Stars”- Jungkook (BTS)

With the calming tone of his voice and perfect high notes, Jungkook of BTS tops the list for his cover of “Lost Stars” by Adam Levine. Known for his many emotional covers, Jungkook uses skilled vocal techniques and sweet breathy notes for this cover. He perfectly conveys the message of the song and expresses feelings of sorrow and the desire to find “the light in the dark.” It makes you ponder about yourself and want to sing along with him in order to let go of knots entangled in your mind.

2. “Eyes, Nose, Lips” – Akdong Musician

Released back in 2014, Akdong Musician covered “Eyes, Nose, Lips,” a song by a fellow member of their YG family, BIGBANG‘s Taeyang. Beautifully sung and clearly showcasing the talents of the sibling-duo, this song cover finds a wonderful balance between hitting high and low notes. When listening to their cover, one can’t help their desire to sway and sing along to the engaging melody. Is there any other way to express how lovely these two sang for this cover?

3. “Love Yourself” – Chanyeol and D.O. (EXO)

EXO‘s Chanyeol and D.O. collaborated on a short cover of “Love Yourself” by Justin Bieber and undoubtedly went far beyond fans’ expectations. As the focus of their cover, the two EXO members aimed to give off a light and delicate kind of atmosphere. Given the crisp sound of the guitar in the background and the fluidity of their voices, it’s not a surprise the cover released on Chanyeol’s official SoundCloud reached over 1.3 million plays to date.

4. “You Raise Me Up” – Jimin Park(15&)

As the winner of season one of “KPOP STAR,” Jimin Park nailed songs such as Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” and Judy Garland’s “Over the Rainbow,” but what really drew attention was her cover of “You Raise Me Up,” the classic song popularized by Josh Groban, during an immensely emotional stage. Anyone who watched her performance could tell she sang from the heart and you couldn’t help but cry when you heard her choke up and try to check her tears.

5. “She Will Be Loved” – DAY6

Last but not least, DAY6 completes the list with their cover of “She Will Be Loved” by Maroon 5. Led by Jae’s sweet husky introduction, YoungK follows with vocals that flow with ease while pleasant beats and guitar accompany in the background. DAY6 establishes their skills not only as musicians, but as a band capable of even more offstage.

Kpop artists are definitely a talented group of people, but with covers of songs like these, sometimes their talents are able to shine even brighter!
