To celebrate FTISLAND‘s 10th anniversary, we found the top ten best moments in FTISLAND history! From their debut on June 7th, 2007, to their current career in 2017, we will see the funny, the sad, and the most triumphant times for FTISLAND. As one of Korea’s best pop-rock bands, these legends have faced trials but also have persevered through it all. Check out these 10 best moments!

10. FTISLAND’s Debut Stage

On their first live stage, FTISLAND performed “F.T Island” and “Love Sick” on Mnet, making the audience bewitched by their talent. Standing for ‘Five Treasure Island,’ FTISLAND soon became Korea’s favorite band with their debut album Cheerful Sensibility ranking number six on the album charts. No doubt they started out strong!

9. Maknae Minhwan’s Aegyo

Being the maknae, everyone expected Minhwan to be adorable… and he delivered! Minhwan’s cuddly personality and chilled attitude made his aegyo all the more believable. Throughout the years, the hardcore drummer has always been a squishy flower boy at heart.

8. Oh Wonbin Leaves FTISLAND

While a member leaving can’t be termed a great moment, the end result went on to form the FTISLAND that we know and love today. Many speculated that Wonbin left because he and Lee Hongki fought often and that he was bullied out of the band. A few years later, Wonbin confirmed this wasn’t true and that he wanted to change focus in his music career and was supported by the members of FTISLAND. He even stated that they remained friends afterward. With the departure of Wonbin, FNC trainee Song Seunghyun became the next guitarist for the band, allowing FTISLAND to become the famous band of today. It’s also a nice moment because hindsight tells us that everyone parted ways as friends.

7. Jaejin Shows His True Self

Known as the band’s lovable playboy and prankster, Jaejin revealed his true self when SHINee‘s Key called him during a filming of Idol Maknae Rebellion. When pressured to choose between Key or his dongsaeng member, Seunghyun, Jaejin did the unexpected and chose a different member altogether—Jonghyun. No one can pressure Jaejin!

6. Hongki Takes A Joyride

On FNC’s reality show Cheongdam 111, both Hongki and Jonghoon took their CEO’s prized car for a spin. Their CEO finally catches up to them, thanks to the dongsaengs ratting out their hyungs. Luckily, Hongki is quick to hop back in the car and drive away!

5. The Mannequin Challenge

It isn’t the easiest task for a band, their crew, and more than a thousand fans to take this very stiff challenge, but FTISLAND and Primadonna pulled it off! Possibly the most difficult Mannequin Challenge yet, the boys led their fans and crew to victory before rocking the night away.

4. “Coming Out! FTISLAND”

During their I Will promotions, FTISLAND showed the world a new side of themselves with “Coming Out! FTISLAND.” The reality show followed them in their everyday lives, and also provided fans with some additional commentary from other FNC artists. The show lasted five episodes, the last being a concert. The show boosted FTISLAND’s popularity and gave all Primadonnas a great laugh.

3. FTISLAND and CNBLUE Perform Together

Though known to have a friendly rivalry, both FTISLAND and CNBLUE love coming together and playing on stage. The 2012 SBS Gayo Daejun featured both bands rocking out to some of Korea’s best, classic rock hits. Switching up members, both bands proved they can rock out together. FTBLUE should definitely be an album!

2. FTISLAND Unplugged

In March of 2014, FTISLAND and MTV came together in Japan to present their live acoustic stage. With their Japanese tracks, including “Beautiful,” “Happiness Theory,” and “Stars,” as well as their Korean hits like “Madly,” audiences and viewers alike were mesmerized by their simple and graceful sound. Having done a studio live in 2012 with songs like “Soyogi” and “Stay,” fans wanted to see more of the band’s acoustic talents and FTISLAND were more than happy to oblige!

1. FTISLAND’s Music Bank Win

It had been eight years since FTISLAND won a KBS Music Bank award. They played live with “Pray” and beat SM’s Red Velvet. Overcome with joy and shock, you can see how grateful the boys are during their acceptance speech. Hongki notes that this album was the first that they all wrote and composed together and were excited to change directions for their band. Every Primadonna was elated with pride!

We can’t wait to see what FTISLAND has in store for Korean rock over the next 10 years! Be sure to check out their newest music video “Wind” and cheer them on as they celebrate their 10th anniversary!
