A special musical event will be held in Japan next week!
The 2019 K-Musical Concert will be held on August 10th-12th at the Pacifico Yokahama National Convention Hall to the south of Tokyo. The special event will be held over three days and will focus on the music from two different musicals starring various Korean artists.
On August 10th-11th, Super Junior’s Ryeowook, VIXX‘s Ken, and CROSS GENE‘s Shin Wonho will be revisiting their roles in the musical “Sonata of a Flame.” They will also be joined by famous musical actor Lee Ji Hoon, who also joined the cast of the revival this year in Seoul, and original cast member Lee Sun Keun. The three idols also performed the show last fall in Tokyo to great success.
The dark musical tells the story of a talented but mentally frail composer who currently struggles to compose. After witnessing a murder, he is suddenly inspired to write new music that becomes the most beautiful music of his career. When his ideas run out once more, however, he is plagued by the temptation to commit his own crime in order to be inspired musically again, yet he is also tormented by his own appalling thoughts. Despite the dark theme, the music of the show is absolutely brilliant and was perfectly performed by the cast during its spring/summer run in Seoul.
On August 12th, Supernova members Jung Yunhak and Kim Sungje will be taking to the stage along with Lee Ji Hoon and Lee Sun Keun to celebrate the music of the musical “INTERVIEW.” They will be joined by talented musical actor Lee Gun Myung. “INTERVIEW” tells the story of “a psychologist, a criminal defendant, and a legal system that stops at nothing to gain an alleged killer’s confession…even if it means driving the accused to the brink of insanity.”¹ Another musical with a darker concept, these talented actors are sure to please fans with their powerful delivery of the musical’s numbers.
