Super Junior’s Kim Heechul Joins Mnet’s Upcoming Program “Idol School”

Super Junior‘s Kim Heechul is joining yet another program!

On May 24th KST, it was revealed that Kim Heechul is joining Mnet’s upcoming program “Idol School.” He will act as the guardian of the students in his role as homeroom teacher. He will guide them and provide support on their journey to becoming idols. Heechul stated, “I will become their support and guide them with a mother’s heart towards becoming a proper girl group.”

“Idol School” will tell the story of Korea’s first professional girl group training institution. Applicants, who do not need to have dancing or singing skills but potential instead, will complete an 11-week curriculum that involves training in not only dance and vocals but also special classes like “idol mental management” and “how to deal with a stage crisis,” to name a few. Among those who pass the exam and graduate, the best students will make their debut as a girl group at the end of the second half of this year. Mnet has done other girl group producing shows such as “Produce 101: Season 1” and “Sixteen.”

Heechul, who is in his thirteenth year as an idol, is expected to pass down practical advice to the students who have chosen the path of an idol. “Idol School” began accepting applications on March 28th and will begin airing in July. If there are no changes to Heechul’s current list of programs, this will be his seventh show! What a busy year for the idol.
