Super Junior has done it again!
On October 3rd, the famous group from SM Entertainment celebrated a huge milestone as their album Replay took the number one spot on Taiwan’s KKBOX Music Chart for the 100th consecutive week!
Ranked number one on the Korean album chart in Taiwan, the album’s original version Play and subsequent repackage Replay have held steady as the weeks have gone by. Despite going up against other global powerhouse groups like BTS, Twice, EXO, BLACKPINK, and more, Super Junior has now maintained the position for almost two years. In fact, if the album maintains its ranking for one more month, it will officially hit the two year mark at number one.
The number one spot on the Korean album chart isn’t the only high-ranking thing from Super Junior however. On the same KKBOX Taiwan (Korean Album) chart, the sub-unit Super Junior D&E ranks number four with their album Danger while member Yesung ranks number ten with his solo album Pink Magic, Meanwhile on the Korean Singles chart, Super Junior holds 16 positions out of the top 50 chart, with every single track from the Replay album ranking within the top 20 tracks.
Super Junior debuted in 2005 and has always had a very strong fanbase in Taiwan. The fandom there is known to be very dedicated and well-organized, as well as very faithful even 14 years after the group’s debut.
As the 100 consecutive weeks at number one became official, the hashtags #SJ_KKBOX100weeks_SuperClap and #소주맥주보다_슈주100주_KKBOX백주축하해 began trending on Twitter.
Congratulations to Super Junior for this amazing accomplishment!
