Super Junior Breaks Their Own Record With 122 Consecutive Weeks At #1 On KKBOX Music Chart

Super Junior has set another amazing record by topping the KKBOX Korean Album Chart in Taiwan for an astounding 122 weeks!

As of March 6th KST, the famous K-pop group hit 122 weeks at the number one spot on the Korean albums chart, thus breaking their own record. This means that the group has ranked number one for almost two-and-a-half years! Not only does this mean that they have the most consecutive number ones on the Korean album chart, but they also have the most consecutive number ones on any of the KKBOX Korean charts.

Super Junior originally set a record of the most consecutive number ones on the KKBOX Korean charts by spending 121 weeks on the Korean singles chart from June 2010 to September 2012.

In the meantime, Super Junior’s Yesung has held the number one spot on the KKBOX Japanese Album Chart for 53 consecutive weeks since the release of his Japanese mini-album, Story.

Super Junior has long since been a powerhouse artist in Taiwan as their faithful fanbase has supported them since their debut. In fact, in January of 2019, Super Junior made history by becoming the first foreign-language artist to win Artist of the Year at the KKBOX Music Awards.

Super Junior’s new record started when their album Play first came out on November 6th, 2017. It ranked as number one consecutively until the repackage Replay was released, which then charted as the number one Korean album. It was then followed by Super Junior’s albums Time Slip and Timeless, allowing no breaks in Super Junior’s consistent rankings at number one.

Congratulations to Super Junior and Taiwanese ELF for an amazing feat!
