K-pop solo artist AleXa will be performing the national anthem as part of the pre-game ceremonies at the Los Angeles Dodgers Game on September 29th!
As part of the special Korean Heritage Night, AleXa will be singing the anthem for the Los Angeles Dodgers game against the San Diego Padres at the famous Dodgers Stadium. While she isn’t the first K-pop artist to perform the anthem there, she certainly follows in the footsteps of some of Korea’s biggest stars, including Tiffany Young (SNSD), Taeyeon (SNSD), Jung Yonghwa (CNBLUE), and more.
The daughter of a Korean adoptee, AleXa is originally from the USA and was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As the anthem marks a special moment for her as a homecoming (and one that will happen in front of approximately 56,000 people), AleXa stated, “I am so honored to be singing the National Anthem for the LA Dodgers on their special Korean Heritage Night! Coming back to the States to sing in such an iconic stadium is an absolute honor and privilege. I think it is so incredible that there is a night dedicated to Korean people and Korean culture— the world around us is becoming more and more diverse as the years go by, and it is amazing to be a part of this celebration. To have been chosen to sing the National Anthem is a heavy task to tackle, but hopefully I will bring pride and passion to my fellow Korean Americans and LA Dodgers fans alike. Extremely grateful for this opportunity.”
The national anthem performance will officially kick off AleXa’s activities in the U.S. As a singer who has largely depended on virtual performances and more to connect with her fans throughout the pandemic, she will now be embarking on her first fan engagement tour. The tour kicks off on October 1st with an fan sign of her recent album, ReviveR, at Amoeba Hollywood. To assure the safety of all the fans and staff, the fully-vaccinated team will comply will all local COVID-19 regulations. In addition, more stops for the fan sign will be announced later this month!
AleXa’s album ReviveR was released in July of this year and is meant to inspire a new retro trend for audiences while also providing a throwback vibe for those who grew up in the 90s and 00s.
