SMTOWN has just confirmed that EXO‘s Lay will not be participating in the group’s upcoming comeback.
On June 23rd KST, reports broke in the Korean news that Lay would not be a part of the comeback. A short while later, SMTOWN confirmed the news and said that it would be impossible for him to participate in the comeback due to his busy schedules in China. Evidently, his previously scheduled projects in China overlap with the upcoming schedules of EXO.
Lately, Lay has been busy in China with TV show appearances, variety shows, modeling, and even acting in a Chinese drama. The singer and actor said that he is disappointed since he was also looking forward to the comeback and is sorry to not be able to meet the fans who have been waiting for their comeback.
Some of SMTOWN’s artists have had conflicting schedules where they still participated in the MV filming but did not participate in the actual comeback promotions. At this point, it’s unclear if Lay will be in the MV or if he will be absent from everything.
