SM Entertainment has released an official statement thanking fans for their comfort the past few days.
The label and their artists have been greatly suffering after Kim Jonghyun, beloved member of SHINee, passed away unexpectedly. He was finally laid to rest yesterday after three days of mourning and funeral rites.
“This is SM Entertainment.
Today we sent off our beloved artist Jonghyun, warmly and in peace. Jonghyun’s family, the SHINee members, our artists, and our employees are deeply saddened by such sudden separation, and are deeply grateful for the comfort that has been given to them.
First and foremost, we would like to sincerely thank the large number of fans that came out to attend Jonghyun’s memorial despite the cold weather and all others who have consoled us.
Also, we respectfully thank all of the celebrities who have worked with Jonghyun, his senior and junior artists, and all of the other entertainment industry members who have adjusted their important schedules out of respect.
Thanks to all of your love and comfort, Jonghyun’s last road was not a lonely one. We believe that Jonghyun’s music, passion, and his presence as an incredible artist will remain in our hearts for an eternity.
Once again, we bow our heads with gratitude to all who have warmly consoled us.”
