The burial of SHINee‘s Jonghyun has taken place.
It was announced December 18th that SHINee member Jonghyun passed away in a tragic fight against mental health. Many artists and fans visited his funeral hall over the past few days with his burial early this morning.
For his funeral procession, Jonghyun’s sister held his portrait with SHINee member Minho as the lead mourner. Coffin pallbearers included SHINee’s Taemin, Key, and Onew, as well as Super Junior’s Leeteuk, Donghae, and Eunhyuk. His burial site will remain private.
A day ago, it was announced that over 10,000 of the general public visited Jonghyun’s funeral hall, making it the largest number in South Korean history.
Jonghyun made a huge impact not just in Korea but around the globe with memorials held in honor and in love for the beloved artist, friend, and family member. His fans trended #YouDidWellJonghyun in memory of him, making it to Twitter’s worldwide trending list.
We offer our deepest condolences, and honor him forever onwards. The skies above have given us a light that can be seen shining bright amongst the stars.
