On October 4th, SMTOWN released the music video for SHINee‘s newest song “1 of 1.”

The song was released during the group’s album showcase at the SM TOWN COEX Artium. The boy band also gave the first public performance of the song during the event. SMTOWN describes the track as “a song of the new jack swing genre that has a funky rhythm and soft R&B melody, with lyrics about expressing only one love to a girl.”

The song is the lead track off their new studio album, also entitled 1 of 1. The album is their first Korean release since their album Odd, which was released in early 2015. The new album features a highly modernized version of retro genres. The tracks pull from influences from the 1970’s-1990’s but still manage to keep a modern feel.

The music video itself is based largely off of fashion and music from the early 90’s, with SHINee’s own, unique twist. The only down-side to the music video? The absence of Onew during the dance sequences. The SHINee leader was suffering from an injury at the time and was unable to participate during the dances. Thankfully, he has been faithfully receiving treatment and is now almost fully recovered.

Check out the video below and make sure to support the group by downloading a copy of their new album from sources like iTunes, Melon and more!
