SG5 (Sailor Guardian 5) Aims For The International Stage With U.S. Talent Agency WME

On September 29th PDT, SG5 (which stands for Sailor Guardians 5) announced their immediate plans to sign with major talent company WME for Global Representation!

SG5 is a five-member Japanese project team composed of Sayaka, Ruri, Rui, Miyuu, and Kaede. They are the first-ever music group to have an official collaboration with the series “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon” which is based on Naoko Takeuchi‘s iconic manga, “Sailor Moon.”

With the introduction of five women from different walks of life in the Sailor Moon universe, the group aims to give a fresh take on the beloved series for both new and longtime fans. Their lore describes SG5 as “an intergalactic pop supergroup that protects the universe from evil, injustice, and negativity. Blending Japanese talent with Western edge and an I.P. that has inspired billions of smiles, their goal is to destroy the forces of darkness with the most powerful weapon of all: music.”

Members Sayaka, Ruri, Kaede, and Miyuu debuted as part of the J-pop group Happiness (2011) while Rui is from iScream (2021). They announced their U.S. debut through an interview with Rolling Stone and expressed their vision for their team. According to Miyuu, “Being able to collaborate with Sailor Moon is such an honor and a dream come true. I have experienced a lot as an artist in Japan, but the environment surrounding SG5 is like no other, so I’m very motivated. I hope we can show the beauty of Japanese culture through our entertainment.”

The group will be represented by WME’s Ben Totis and David Bradley and the girls have shared their excitement to be part of the agency’s roster, stating that “We are very honored to sign with WME, home to so many amazing artists! We can’t wait to see what the future holds and are very excited for everyone around the world to hear our music and see our live performances in the future.”

SG5 is co-managed by LDH Japan (one of the country’s biggest entertainment companies) and backed by Three Six Zero (a global management and entertainment partnership label) while Grammy Award-winning songwriter and producer BloodPop serves as the group’s Executive Producer and co-Creative Director.

With the addition of their newest partner which is a leading entertainment agency representing the world’s greatest artists, content creators, and talent across books, digital media, film, food, music, sports, television, and theater, SG5 sets strong expectations for their future promotional activities.
