It has been revealed that the rapper Iron has passed away.
It was reported that Iron had been found bleeding in the flower bed outside his apartment building by a security guard on the morning of January 25th KST. Police later confirmed some of the details to Korean news by stating that they had indeed received a call from apartment security who had discovered Iron.
They revealed that Iron had been rushed to the hospital, but he passed away despite the efforts. They also stated that the cause of death was not clear, so they were investigating the matter.
Iron first came to the attention of the public in 2014 when he appeared as a contestant on “Show Me the Money 3.” After dropping various singles, such as “Blu” featuring Babylon and “Malice,” he then released his solo album, entitled Rock Bottom, in 2016. He also became known to mainstream K-pop fans through his various features on songs like “Crazy” by Jonghyun and “Erase” by Hyolyn and Jooyoung, as well as many more.
Even though Iron had great potential and musical talent, his career suffered major setbacks due to various legal trouble. Most recently, he was arrested for assaulting his roommate in December of 2020.
Iron, real name Jung Hun Chul, was 29 at the time of his passing.
We offer our sincere condolences to Iron’s family and friends for this unexpected loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.
