On August 18th KST, photos of Ma Dong Seok as “Gilgamesh” in the upcoming Marvel Studios’ film “The Eternals” were revealed through Entertainment Weekly!
The show is about a race of ancient human beings created millions of years ago by individuals known as “Celestials.” The Celestials performed various genetic experiments on Earth, giving human beings superpowers. Ma Dong Seok (also known as Don Lee) will play “Gilgamesh,” a hero who has super strength comparable with Marvel characters Thor and Hulk.
This film debut marks Ma Dong Seok as the first Korean cast to play a superhero in Marvel and the second Korean to join a Marvel Studios film following Claudia Kim. He will work alongside Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie, Kit Harrington, Salam Hayek, Richard Maddens, and more. Academy Award-winning director Chloé Zhao, together with Matthew and Ryan Firpo, will spearhead the film which will be produced by Kevin Feige.
