Nam Joo Hyuk And Shin Se Kyung Confirm Lead Roles In “Bride Of The Water God”

At last, tVN’s “Bride of the Water God” cast has officially confirmed its cast.

After the groundbreaking hit of “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo,” actor Nam Joo Hyuk will be returning in a fantasy romance drama, alongside Shin Se Kyung (“Six Flying Dragons”) and f(x)‘s Krystal (“My Lovely Girl”), Gong Myung (“Drinking Solo”) and Lim Ju Hwan (“Oh My Ghostess”).

The live action version of the manhwa is written by Jung Yoon Jung, who also wrote the dramas “Arang and the Magistrate” and “Monstar.” Director Kim Byung Soo will spearhead the production crew.

The upcoming drama will be a modern adaptation of the Korean fantasy manhwa (Korean version of manga) “Bride of the Water God.” The story revolves around So-ah (Shin Se Kyung), a neuropsychiatrist who is offered as a sacrifice to Ha Baek (Nam Joo Hyuk), the water god who wants to make So-ah his slave. Hye-ra ( Krystal), a goddess who lived a hundred years in the human world, became an actress and falls in love with the water god. Bi-ryum (Gong Myung) plays a wind god who loves Hye-ra, and Hoo-ye (Im Joo Wan) plays a resort CEO who will be the rival of Ha Baek.

The first script reading was March 16th. The drama is expected to air its first episode on July 3rd, 2017!
