MONSTA X To Promote As Six Members Due To Hyungwon’s Health Issues

The seven-member group MONSTA X is going to be down one member for upcoming promotions and possibly concerts due to a sudden health issue regarding member Hyungwon.

On July 7th KST, Starship Entertainment posted on the MONSTA X fan cafe to tell fans that Hyungwon is in the initial stages of fairly common but potentially dangerous skin condition known as cellulitis. They wrote:” During MONSTA X’ time at Music Bank , Hyungwon discovered a small edema on his knee, and after being examined, it was discovered to be the beginning of cellulitis. As the doctor stated the bacteria would spread if Hyungwon doesn’t receive adequate treatment, we’re following his advice.”

Cellulitis is a bacterial infection involving the inner layers of the skin. It is often found on the face and neck, though can be contracted anywhere on the body. A break-out of it on the leg is commonly contracted following a break in the skin or abrasion. As long as antibiotics are taken and proper treatment is followed, it’s fairly easily taken care of. However, it’s usually very painful.

MONSTA X has been busy promoting their new track “Shine Forever” from their repackage album of the same name. On top of that, preparations for the American leg of their world tour have begun, and they will kick off with the first concert on July 12th in Chicago. Fans are sad as they were hoping to see Hyungwon during the tour, but they have also been sending get well messages to him in regards to the recent news.
