MAMA 2021 is just around the corner!
The yearly Mnet Asian Music Awards is set to take place on December 11th at 6 p.m. KST. With the ceremony coming soon, the list of nominees has been revealed.
Before voting starts, however, fans should be aware that this year’s awards has several changes. For the 2021 awards, fan votes will not be counted for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, or Song of the Year. Instead, those categories will be determined by the following:
- Artist of the Year (and other artist award categories): 40% judges’ evaluation, 20% physical album sales, 20% digital performance, 10% global music platform, and 10% music video
- Album of the Year: 40% judges’ evaluation, 40% physical album sales, 10% digital performance, and 10% global music platform
- Song of the Year (and other song award categories): 40% judges’ evaluation, 30% digital performance, 10% physical album sales, 10% global music platform, and 10% music video.
As far as the Worldwide Fans’ Choice Top 10 Awards and Worldwide Icon of the Year, these awards will be chosen 100% by fans’ votes.
