ARTLOVER has released her first single and MV!
The South Korean native is based in London and recently dropped the music video for “Want You Back.” The stylish MV shot in the summer in Sweden by fashion photographer Albin Rydholm and features a unique 19th century European style. In fact, you will see many pieces of antique jewelry collected by the singer herself.
Perhaps what makes the concept of this video so special is the fact that ARTLOVER is truly an artist herself. Working as a makeup artist with her work featured in magazines like ELLE and Vogue, she has cultivated a solid fashion sense and artistic flair that definitely shines through in her video.
“As a makeup artist, I have worked with many music video shoots, but this was the first time in front of the camera, so it was very special,” she stated.
The song itself has received a lot of praise from critics and reviewers. ARTLOVER’s unique blend of rap with vocals gives a fresh sound that suits the MV perfectly. “Want You Back” was by JYP Entertainment‘s Lee Tae Sub, who has worked with TWICE and DAY6, and Swedish songwriter-produce Max Billion (Mike Perry, DIMA). It is perhaps this touch of Swedish pop-rock that gives the song such a fresh sound.
ARTLOVER is currently working on her mini-album, which is set to release in June 2018.
