EXO‘s Lay (Lay Zhang) dropped a prelude track for his upcoming album at midnight of May 20th CST!
“Jade” was co-written, co-composed, and co-arranged by the singer himself. The song contains traditional Chinese music and storytelling, fused with more modern Western influences.
Lay’s fourth album is said to follow the concept of “twins,” featuring the contrasting narratives of past and present lives. The first chapter is reported to focus mainly on Eastern and Western sounds, set against conventional Chinese cultural themes. Meanwhile, its second part will be a more familiar mix of urban life and pop.
