The tragic loss of Chester Bennington, lead singer for Linkin Park, has affected many fans and fellow artists around the globe.
Following the news of Mr. Bennington’s suicide on July 20th, EXO‘s Chanyeol took to Instagram and SoundCloud to honor the late musician. On his Instagram post, he wrote in English and said, “Your music will forever be my aspiration. R.I.P Chester Bennington.”
He uploaded the short cover of the Linkin Park song “Heavy” on SoundCloud, making it his first post on the music sharing site in approximately ten months. The simple piano arrangement of the song made for the perfect accompaniment for Chanyeol’s smooth voice as he sings the sad lyrics to “Heavy,” a song about dealing with depression.
